[lttng-dev] Benefits of script driven tracing

I have started my tracing journey with LTTng :) I was going through old stuff on
the list related to [1] and the discussion that followed.

Is there any visible benefits that script driven tracing can yield us? I know
that in [2] indication on "running scripts on information extracted from UST
buffers" had been given. Has something like this been tried out before?
